Running a Business is not for Dummies

"This is a really exciting time for us. Much of our success is thanks to intensive marketing, which involved producing mailshots, leaflets, networking and placing two painted mannequins outside the shop." Paul Bentley, FASTSIGNS Franchisee
Following a year filled with high profile clients and mannequins, staff at the Hammersmith FASTSIGNS® centre are celebrating an 85 per cent increase in sales.
The centre was opened by Paul Bentley in 2004 and specialises in sign and graphics products, including wide format full colour, exhibition displays and vehicle graphics. Since its launch, Paul and his four-strong team have taken the business from strength to strength, servicing local companies such as Hodder & Stoughton, Louis Vuitton, the Metropolitan Police, the BBC and Barclaycard Premiership.
Paul, who worked previously in publishing and advertising sales, commented:
“This is a really exciting time for us. Much of our success is thanks to intensive marketing, which involved producing mailshots, leaflets, networking and placing two painted mannequins outside the shop. These measures have brought in vast amounts of work and the mannequins have been a great hit."
“When we first opened the centre, our main challenge was the technology needed to create quality products. This is still an issue, as technology is updated almost as fast as we install it, but I’ve been amazed by the speed with which we can turn work around and we’re processing more orders than I ever thought possible. For the future, we plan to improve the production facilities, increase sales activity and recruit more employees. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Andy Simpson, franchise business consultant for FASTSIGNS UK, said:
“Business is booming for the Hammersmith centre and everyone involved should be proud of its success. The team has achieved the highest percentage sales increase out of our 21 centres, proving that the effort has been more than worth it.”
